The father with what good he has other throws the corrupt world. He explains that she shouldn't get too attached or close to him as it is "dark inside", appealing to the youth of his daughter, which is reference to his cruelty and corruption due to the word he lives in. He goes on to say to his daughter that when he is angry or cruel to her (when she feels his heat) that she should look into his eyes and see that he has been corrupted by this horrible world (the demons in his eyes).
He explains that no matter who we are or what we try to do in the end we are filled with greed and so evil. The father wants to hide the truth of the horrible world from and protect or shelter his daughter, but the father is also part of the horrible world and he can't hide his daughter from himself.
The leaders are corrupt and awful and so much blood has bean spilt that it's no longer new or interesting, it is just part of life, it's gone stale. The world has no hope as everyone's dreams have failed. The world has lost all of its good as all the saints, or good people, are just statues of gold left in history. Without further ado, my take on the story of Demons:įirstly I think it is a father talking to his daughter, due to the tone of the song and probably some predisposition in my thinking.
